Does anyone see anything wrong with hosting your own baby shower?

The dilemma: My Aunt offered to help out with giving me a baby shower. However, she never contacted me about it, she only talked back and forth to my mom and totally left me out. My husband & I are very excited about the shower & our baby. I want to be in charge and take control so to speak and plan my own shower! I feel like my aunt is just wanting to do it for all the wrong reasons, etc. just to say she did it. It's basically draining me and taking all the fun of it. I have decided to go ahead and host my own shower, my dad says I'm a whacko because of this. Whats everyones opioion?
