Lice and Nits Question?

Hi! Well I managed to get lice from this girl in my health and phys ed cl and I never even go near her. I just found out and got the treatment today, but my mom has never treated me or my brother for lice because we never had it before. My mom doesn't know what she's looking for when she tries to look for knits. All I know is that they are tiny, oval shaped, gray-ish white, and are usually plastered to the hair or against the scalp against the hair follicle. My mom can't find any because I got really bad dandruff from scratching my head a lot, do any of you know anything else she could be looking for when seeking out the eggs? Thanks!
