Why do I have more than one hair growing from the follicles near the edge of my beard?

Just on the edge of your beard? Lucky you! I have 2,3 sometimes 4 hairs growing out of most of the pores on my entire body! This makes my beard very coarse and the ONLY way I have ever been able to get an acceptably close shave is to use an electric shaver. A regular bladed razor just digs into all that hair and pulls on it, no matter which direction I shave it. An electric shaver allows me to "mow" it down and gives a smooth shave. I can't say it would work for you, but maybe it's something you should at least consider.
