Why should I trust a God that allows for child abuse?

Even if you argue that people have free will, it still begs the question why God would place an innocent child with people he knew were sick and perverted. He's all knowing, after all. Right? Child abuse haunts children for the rest of their lives. No amount of therapy or medication heals the nightmares, broken relationships and complete emptiness that haunts a child for the rest of their lives. Apparently God looks out for everyones best interest - so why should anyone trust a God that intentionally puts a child that situation while looking out for its "best interests"?
