"wise beyond my years..." ?

So I was talking to my little cousin. She's 10, and I'm 15. She been going thru a hard time with bullying and a friend ping away, do when I was babysitting and she said she wanted to go buy makeup to cover her ugly face, I told her "life is too short to spend hoping that makeup will mask an ugly heart. You don't have anyhong ugy about you. Everyones beautiful in their own way, and you need to ebmbrace that". Then her mom said I was wise beyond my years. Do you think she's right, or am I just using common sense?
