What is the QofL like in the USA?

I had to ask since if I move to the US to peruse my dream job- Working at Pixar- then I kind of am curious. Is the Health Care really that bad? What is Tax like? Do the people have any leverage in anything? Or I mean, do they have freedom of speech in the government? Like just tell me about it. What about University? Is there Student Loan? How about owning a house? Like please, just tell me everything. Quality of Life everything.
